Learn how to make tasty banh canh cua which is a rich and thick crab soup served with Vietnamese "udon" noodles, pork, shrimp patties, and quail eggs.
Here are the ingredients!
Broth:
pork bones
white onion
turnip
bulb of green onion
crab meat
tapioca starch
Seasoning for the broth (adjust to taste):
1 rock sugar (or regular white sugar)
3/4 cup of fish sauce
2 tsp of salt
Garnishes:
limes
green onions
cilantros
Crispy Shrimp Balls:
2 lb of shrimp
6 tsp tapioca starch
3 tsp salt
5 tsp fish sauce
2 tsp pepper
4 tsp sugar
Mr. Hung's Thai Fried Chicken Flour
Additional Sides:
Quail eggs
Chopped whole crab (we used pre-peeled crab meat because it's cheaper, quicker, and easier than cooking a whole crab but feel free to use a whole crab, probably will taste better too!)
These ingredients are easy to find at your local Asian supermarket.
