Rape victims have been through so much in the hands of their tormentors. The law has been seen to be slow, to the extent that people wondered if victims of sexual assault would ever get justice.
It is gratifying to know that the law was not 'sleeping' all this while, but was taking its time. It is a thing of joy to see rapists jailed. Although, it would not assuage the hurt, it is a step in the right direction.
We applaud the courts for doing the needful. This would serve as a deterrent for others. The society needs to be safe for all, especially vulnerable children.
