I make a marking knife from a piece of scrap O1 tool steel, The idea is to knock it out so I can test if my DIY forge is capable of getting the steel hot enough to harden it.
Then I can proceed with hardening some plane irons. It worked and worked better that expected so I decide to put my plane project on hold and put a handle on this new knife instead.
I have made plenty of handles before but never a blade so this a first complete knife I have made from scratch and hardened.
The design was completely adhoc and made up as I went. As a result is was a super quick project, a lot of fun and I ended up with an extreme looking marking knife.
So after i finish my plane videos, which are nearly finished, my next videos after that will probably be some more knives cause it is a lot of fun.
