NASA downloaded data at a rate of 622 megabits per second (Mbps) using a pulsed laser beam. 13000 times faster than normal network connection. NASA uses Shadow network which providers interconnections between important laboratory and data centres. So downloads and uploads are done between this network only. Its also called as ESnet -Energy Science network. NASA does not uses simple internet like us as they are doing reserch they have to transfer files from one server to another or files or pictures from space which are of huge sizes so they use there own server to transfer the files not this our usual internet.
