On the 25th of June, Simona de Silvestro began testing her Sauber C31 Formula 1 car at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, also known as the Circuit de Valencia.

Simona de Silvestro is a Swiss race car driver from Thun, Switzerland. She most recently competed for KV Racing Technology in the IZOD IndyCar Series.

In February 2014, Formula One team Sauber announced that de Silvestro would join the team as an "affiliated driver" and would undergo a year-long training programme with the team, with the ultimate objective of racing in 2015.
