Lifelong resident of Bend, Paul Reynolds, is not your typical 86-year-old. He enjoys riding his bike on a 15-mile loop several times a week, skiing at Mt. Bachelor, and many other activities. After getting hit by a car on his bicycle he was seriously injured with a broken humerus, elbow, and femur. Hours later, Dr. Chris Healy performed surgery on him. His first concern was whether or not he would be able to use his Mt. Bachelor season pass that year. Dr. Healy worked with him to help him achieve his goals with a promise to ride up the chairlift together once he had recovered. After multiple surgeries, Paul was steadfast in his recovery and was able to make a lot of progress. Four months after his injury, Paul and Dr. Healy were able to hit the slopes together and celebrate their success.
