The discussion features two experienced entrepreneurs, Alexander and Mario, who express strong optimism about the future of renewable energy while acknowledging the challenges, especially in Europe. Alexander recalls past struggles with solar power regulations and emphasizes the importance of continued innovation and political support for renewable technologies. Mario, as an investor in wind and solar energy, highlights the need for rapid action in Europe to expand power capacity and improve grid infrastructure. Both agree that despite the bureaucratic delays, the global transition to renewable energy is inevitable. They stress the importance of public awareness, education, and proactive actions to ensure the timely adoption of renewable technologies. Alexander Voigt, Physicist & Entrepreneur
In the 1980s, while studying math and physics, Alexander Voigt developed climate models that revealed the severe impact of CO₂ emissions. This sparked a 30-year journey founding companies to advance renewable energy. His ventures helped pioneer Germany's solar industry, with one reaching a €5 billion market cap and global leadership in photovoltaics. Now, with HH2E, Voigt is converting surplus wind and solar into green hydrogen, targeting 4 GW of production in Germany by 2030 and revitalizing the solar sector.
