How long will a round bale last? What happens to the net as the bale gets smaller? Do I need to tighten the hay net as they eat it down?
This time lapse video shows exactly what happens to a bale over an 8 day period with 7 horses. We used a 5x6 roll of Bermuda hay weighing approximately 1000lbs. We never tightened the net. The weight and shape of the hay will keep the net pretty snug until about the last day of hay.
