Use a 8 inch heavy bottom pan.
1. Butter - 30 g
Melt butter on low heat. Swirl the pan & coat it with butter. Turn off the flame
2. Unsweetened cocoa powder - 25 g
Sieve cocoa powder into it.
3. Sugar - 70 g
4. Egg - 1
5. Milk - 60 g (1/4 cup)
Add sugar, egg & milk. Whisk quickly when you add egg to the melted butter & cocoa powder mixture. (Use any whisk that won’t scratch the pan or use a spatula to mix it)
6. All purpose flour - 40 g (1/4 cup)
7. Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
8. Salt - a pinch
Then sieve flour, baking soda & a pinch of salt into it.
Mix well until combined & there is no lumps of flour.
Scrape the bottom of the pan with a spatula & clean the edges.
Cook it covered for about 10-12 minutes on low flame. (Insert a skewer & it will come out clean)
Milk Bath:
1. Milk - 1/3 cup
2. Sugar - 1/4 tsp
3. Chocolate - 1 tsp (optional)
Drench the cake in milk. Regular milk is enough. ( I had some leftover chocolate, so I added it as well)
Frosting:
You can use any frosting:
Ganache or spread Nutella 😍
For ganache:
1. Heavy cream - 1 cup
2. Chopped chocolate - 1 cup
Heat heavy cream. Remove it from heat when the cream is just under boiling. Mix it with chopped chocolate and pour over the cake.
