Join Vivian and Eiko for the live stream on November 3rd to enjoy the coffee culture in Chongqing, China, and Lima, Peru!
Peru is one of the first Latin American countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, the first to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership with China, and the first to sign a bunch of free trade agreements with China. Since China and Peru signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Jointly Building the Belt and Road in 2019, the high-quality cooperation between the two countries in jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative has continued to advance. The landmark infrastructure projects invested in and constructed by China can enhance regional connectivity in Peru, improve logistics efficiency in Latin America, create many local jobs, and drive economic growth.
Peru is a country rich in coffee - only 10% of Arabica coffee can be called specialty coffee. The high altitude brings a plateau climate, as well as suitable temperature, air, light, and fertile soil. These unique geographical advantages extend the growth period of coffee beans and provide perfect conditions for growing delicious and aromatic Arabica coffee beans. Chongqing Coffee Trading Center, with a transaction volume exceeding 10 billion yuan in 2017, has become China's largest coffee spot trading platform. The logistics and transportation system with the China-Europe Railway Express as the core has provided Chongqing with an efficient channel for the development of the coffee industry
Vivian’s Latin America journey will start with a visit to a coffee area in Lima City with a guest from the local press. She’ll report on the industry and economy promotion project from Chongqing to Peru. Eiko will host the show in Chongqing to introduce the municipality’s coffee culture and industry, including a Peru coffee shop.
Stay tuned!
