Since its emergence in the 1960s and more recently in the last ten years, performance in the art context has had a great effect on both the role of the viewer/participant and object/perception of the artwork. Given developments in the digital realm, such as animation and interactive software, relationships between the body and performer have taken major steps. What are the limitations of performative arts, if any? Can performance exist without a body?
