Processing firewood is a common task in most camp scenarios. Tinder, kindling and fuel are essential for creating a successful campfire. Dave Canterbury discusses how to process wood for a campfire using a saw and a knife as opposed to an axe. An Axe can be cumbersome to carry over distance and poses a higher risk for injury. A saw is a safer alternative and is generally less weight to carry. A successful campfire really hinges on how well you prepare your tinder, kindling and fuel and the conditions that you are presented.
