No One Has Seen God, How Can You See Jesus?
In Daniel 7, we see a vivid depiction of God the Father and Jesus Christ, the Son of Man, in a divine vision. The Ancient of Days, clearly representing God the Father, is described with such detail that it shatters any doubt about His visibility in this context: "His clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, its wheels were burning fire" (Daniel 7:9). This imagery not only clarifies His majestic presence but also His ability to appear in a form that can be witnessed by human eyes, specifically through divine revelation. - Daniel 7:9 describes the Ancient of Days in His heavenly court.
The vision continues with the arrival of the Son of Man, Jesus Christ, coming with the clouds of heaven to the Ancient of Days, illustrating their distinct identities yet close relationship. "I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him" (Daniel 7:13-14). Here, Jesus is prophesied as receiving an everlasting dominion, confirming His divine status and role in God's plan of salvation. - Daniel 7:13-14 prophesies Jesus' eternal kingdom and divine authority.
Jesus Himself confirms His identity as the Son of Man in the New Testament, directly linking back to Daniel's vision: "Again the high priest asked him, 'Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?' 'I am,' said Jesus. 'And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven'" (Mark 14:61-62). This not only affirms the prophetic connection but also underscores Jesus' role in divine judgment and His divine nature. - Mark 14:61-62 shows Jesus affirming His identity as the prophesied Son of Man.
The nature of God as described here is both transcendent and immanent. He is formless by nature, yet capable of assuming visible forms for human perception, as seen when the Holy Spirit appears in bodily form like a dove at Jesus' baptism (Luke 3:22) or as tongues of fire on Pentecost (Acts 2:3). This demonstrates the ability of the divine to manifest in ways comprehensible to us, reinforcing the Christian doctrine of God's omnipotence and His desire to interact with His creation in tangible, understandable ways.
