The Indian Meteorological Department issued a red alert in six districts of Kerala over the next few days. Red alert denotes extremely heavy rains and it has been sounded in Idukki and Kasargod for Sunday. Extreme rain alert has been sounded in Malappuram, Wayanad, Kozhikode and Kannur for Monday. Orange, yellow alerts have also been sounded for other districts over the next four days.
