In this video, we explore one of the best places in Delhi which is Raj ghat. Mahatma Gandhi was one of the greatest and undisputed leaders, respected by everyone. He led the path of 'non-violence' to force the British to leave India. He also actively participated in several freedom movements including Quit India Movement and, therefore, has been honored as 'Father of the Nation'. The importance of this place comes from the fact that it is mandatory for any migrant delegation from India to come to Raj Ghat to surrender Pushpanjali and pay respect to Mahatma Gandhi.
Raj Ghat is situated on the Mahatma Gandhi Marg on the banks of the Yamuna River. It is the most popular attraction of Delhi and attracts thousands of tourists every day. This monument is a square structure made of black marble with a torch burning on one side. It is surrounded by pebbled footpaths and lush lawns and the 'Hey Ram' rectum has been analyzed on the monument as it is believed that these were the last words of the Mahatma.
Raj Ghat is a place where he was cremated after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on 31 January 1948 and hence made it his last resting place next to the sanctity of the river Yamuna.
This monument is made of black marble and in one corner there is an eternal flame burning symbolizing the infinity of this great leader. To reach the walled platform of this memorial site, a path made of stones is paved through green lawns.
Construction of Raj Ghat Vanu G. It was done by an architect named Bhuta which showed the simplicity of life of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Rajghat Memorial has made a lot of changes to the design keeping in mind its originality and simplicity, incorporating some things at the request of India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru since independence. The last words of Mahatma Gandhi are inscribed on the memorial, meaning 'O Ram' or 'O Lord'.
The shoes are removed before entering the memorial site. Every Friday, you can attend a memorial ceremony dedicated to him on 2 October on Mahatma Gandhi's birthday and also visit prayer sessions every year during his death anniversary. You can also visit two museums, including the National Gandhi Museum, which is dedicated to the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi.
