Why do we need European-wide standards for neonatal care? In this video, Monique Oude Reimer-van Kilsdonk (Chair) and Foteini Andritsou (Vice Chair) of the Topic Expert Group for “Care procedures” discuss the importance of setting reference standards to ensure every preterm and ill baby receives high-quality, evidence-based care - no matter where, when, or how they are born. These standards help reduce inequalities and establish a consistent framework for neonatal care across Europe.
The European Standards of Care for Newborn Health (ESCNH) are collaborative, evidence-based guidelines developed by over 220 experts and parent representatives from 30+ countries to improve outcomes for preterm and sick infants.
