NFL 선수들 시위에 부통령 퇴장, 트럼프 지시
U.S. Vice President Mike Pence walks out of a National Football League game after several players refused to stand for the national anthem.
The move earned high praise from his boss,... who has been waging a war of words against athletes protesting against racial injustice by kneeling during the ceremony.
Trump tweeted that he asked Pence to leave if players kneeled, and said he was "proud of him".
The vice president said he could not be present at the match as the players "disrespected American soldiers, the flag and the anthem."
The protests began when former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick put his career on the line and knelt to protest against police brutality last year.
Trump condemned the protests as having nothing to do with race, and pressed the NFL to ban the players.
But his actions only appear to have galvanized the athletes.
