On 28 September 2018, Palu was hit by what BBC describes as a ‘worst case’ scenario, combining a large earthquake with a 7.4 magnitude, followed by a tsunami, major liquefaction and landslides that devastated the regions of Palu, Donggala and Sigi, resulting in total destruction of most buildings in the area.
YUM & Subud Youth Indonesia in cooperation with a number of local partners ( DoctorShare, KUN Humanity System, The National Clusters for Central Sulawesi, the Indonesian government and others) will establish two emergency posts (Posko): one in Poso in October 2018 and a second one in Donggala in November 2018.
Objectives
- Provide assistance to victims in the form of nutritious foods, clean water, medicine and basic shelter.
- Restore confidence and eliminate trauma
Target
- Provide assistance to 100 families, 500 children and 1,000 adults
