Notes from Friday Sermon delivered:
• The Promised Messiah as says that the companions of the Holy Prophet saw are the living testimony of his Nubuwwat. One cannot deny their status
• Their lives are guiding lamps for us
• Hazrat Abu Dajana Ansari ra: he participated in Badr and demonstrated great courage. He also participated in Uhud. He was among the few who stood to defend the person of the Holy Prophet saw when enemies attacked at the end of the battle. He died in the battle of Yamama while facing Musailima.
• While dying he said, maybe Allah accepted two things of mine: one is that I never said anything useless, backbite anyone and second that I had any grudge against any believer.
• The Muslims defended Islam. They obeyed the Holy Prophet saw in that they must unite in defending Islam. As long as they lived on this principle, they succeeded.
• Hazrat Abu Ayyub Ansari ra: The Holy Prophet saw stayed in his house when he first migrated to Medina. He stayed there for 6 or 7 months. They demonstrated high level of Mehman Nawazi. In his old age he participated in the battle of Rome. When he was asked of his dying wish, he said send my salaam to all Muslims and bury me as far as you can in the land of our opponents. Today his qabr is found in Turkey.
• Hazrat Abdullah Bin Rawahara: Shaer e Rasool. A great poet. In one battle, the Holy Prophet saw said that if your general dies, then so and so will be general and if he dies then Abdullah Bin Rawaha ra will be general and if he dies then whoever you deem fit, you may choose. He attained Shahadat in Ghazwah e Moatta.
. One of his qualilties was that he offered two rakats nawafil before leaving the house and offered two rakats when he entered the house.
Hazrat Abu Darda ra says that whenever he met me we talked about faith and Allah.
• Muaz Bin Harith and Muawiz Bin Harith: two exemplary brothers. They participated in Badr. Muslims were outnumbered in that battle. There was no worldly means and no apparent way that Muslims would come out of this encounter. But the faith of the believers triumphed. Abdur Rahman Bin Auf says that when I looked at my right and left, I saw two young boys. My heart almost stopped. In battles there must be two experienced warriors on the sides of a general. But here were the two boys. At once they asked me: chacha where is Abu Jahl who used to disturb the Holy Prophet saw. I pointed to him with my fingers. At the same moment like lightning they sprang to him and broke the lines. And brought him to the ground. Ikrima could not save his father but hit Muaz on his back. The fight was very fierce. This was the love for the Holy Prophet saw. They could not bear the pain the enemy inflicted upon their master. They were fearless in defending islam. Today young boys are kidnapped and trained for suicide bombing. That is not Islam.
• The Promised Messiah as says that this is the level I want to see in my companions. They must not care for their selves and wealth and property. The companions had only one thing in mind: to please Allah. Everything else was secondary. They understood that under all hardships there is the treasure of the pleasure of Allah.
