How to Fix / Tighten a Wiggly, Wobbly, Loose, and or Broken Hot Shoe on Your Camera. Done with a Canon 5d mark 3 III
hey so I just wanted to make a quick video about how I fix my my hot shoe when it gets really really loose and I think most people probably don't have this problem but I do because I use a spider belt kind of set up which has your camera be kind of upside down and as I walk around I think it loosens so anyway this is how I temporarily fix it obviously I don't want you to go copy me and break your break your gear there is a better way to fix it by taking you to a camera shop and they can do it legit but in a pinch um especially when I'm on a gig and it starts getting a little loose I need to tighten it up real quick otherwise my flash is gonna go flying off my camera or the whole mount is gonna like rip out so this is how I fix it alright so this probably will work with a lot of different cameras but this is 5d mark 3 so the first thing I do is get one it's like an eyeglass flat head and phillips head screwdriver and the first thing you gotta do is get this part up so usually what i do is get underneath that and then kind of lift and get this part out so once you got that out you can see the screws here you can see how loose it is and you take screwdriver tighten those up so this is the kind of thing I think when a camera store fixes it they take these out and get new screws or put some sort of I think it's called a lock tight or something something you can put on screws to make them a kind of lock in place a little bit better so as you can see that's it tightened up and this is definitely a temporary fix because I mean they're just gonna get loose again until they're actually fixed so this is kind of an in the pinch kind of thing you can go a little further and get new screws or try to use some sort of like I said adhesive or something like that so the next thing you have to do is put this back in and make sure it's the right way because I've actually I forget what I did I flipped it over or something like that and um it kind of locked in upside down and it's actually really really hard to get it back off so it goes like this so this is actually the easiest part it just slides back in boom and let's see and we're good a lot better than it was so in conclusion that's how I fix my hot shoe when it gets Wiggly hopefully this is helpful
