A secondary service-connected disability is a disability that results from a condition that is already service-connected. Veterans must provide medical evidence linking their back pain to their already service-connected condition, or a nexus. Common conditions that can lead to secondary back disabilities include hip conditions, foot conditions such as plantar fasciitis, knee conditions, and more.
