STORYLINE:
Conservative presidential candidate Valerie Pecresse cast her vote in the first round of France's presidential election on Sunday.
Up to 48 million eligible voters will be choosing between 12 candidates, including Pecresse, who represents the Republicans party.
President Emmanuel Macron is seeking a second five-year term, with a strong challenge from the far right.
Unless a candidate gets more than half of the vote, there will be a second and decisive round on April 24.
