On the 31st of July 2018, the Australian Intercultural Society (AIS) hosted a panel with Hana Assafiri, Dr Meredith Doig, Dr Paul Monk & Associate Professor Mehmet Ozalp on the topic of 'Islam in a Secular Society: Individualism vs Communitarianism'.
In a conversation facilitated by Barney Zwartz, former Religion editor from the Age, meaningful discussion on what it means for Muslims to partake in society from an individual and a collective perspective was taken in to consideration.
