I had a very experienced stamper send me some impressions they had tried with two of our stamps along with the stamps. I could, immediately, see what was going on from her samples in that they weren't using adequate pressure but it was more a matter of not having any, or enough, padding underneath her paper. I show how to use stamps with a lot of surface texture in this video. If you ever run into imagery absence, use more padding under your surfaces/papers. Even a newspaper or magazine is good. Something to allow the paper to contour to the stamp especially if they're larger stamps. I also show how to use a brayer if one has any hand or joint issues where you can't apply adequate impression pressure. A brayer makes quick work of that and requires very little brayer pressure. Practice it a couple times and you'll get the brayer technique if that's needed.
