Malaysia's Johor state will go ahead with local elections in March despite the Omicron surge. It will be the fourth state poll held amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The 56-seat Johor state assembly was dissolved on Jan 22 after the Barisan Nasional-led government's majority was reduced to one-seat following the death of Bersatu's Kempas assemblyman Osman Sapian in December. More than 2.5 million voters will cast their ballots.
