Preaching ideas for your sermon on Luke 17: 5-10.
Just like the disciples in this passage, we’ve all asked God to increase our faith.
The people in your congregation understand what it feels like to lack faith when faced with the difficulties of life. When you’re preaching this passage, remember that you’re addressing a familiar topic.
This is important because Jesus responds in an unfamiliar way when his disciples insist they need more faith.
He seems to say, “You have all the faith you need. In fact, if you only had the tiniest seed of faith you could tell this tree to be planted in the sea and it would be.”
Here’s the point to drive home in your sermon: Even the tiniest bit of faith can achieve monumental results.
Encourage your people to step out in faith and to trust that Jesus will supply all they need for any and every situation.
You can help them visualize this by giving examples of great heroes of the faith. Share stories and quotes from those who’ve seen huge results with only a small amount of faith. Maybe even something from your own life.
Remember, faith is the oxygen in the lungs of those who believe.
