Let's switch a lamp on and off using a relay in a circuit. We'll use both non-latching and latching relays. Relays are useful for using small signals to switch on and off larger signals, like mains voltages. Here we use a 5 VDC signal to switch a lamp on and off, with the lamp operating at 230 VAC.
This video series introduces basic AC circuit design and analysis, how transformers and switches like relays and transistors are used, and finally in later videos a power supply is designed from basic principles.
