How to create new account on IRCTC: Simple steps to follow
Here are the simple steps one can follow to create a new account on IRCTC.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) provides the facility of booking and cancelling railway tickets to its users through their mobile phones by using IRCTC website or application software (app). In order to take the advantage of the service, users need to register themselves on the official website/application of IRCTC.

Here are the simple steps one can follow to create a new account on IRCTC's official website/application.
Step 1: Visit the official website of IRCTC, irctc.co.in

Step 2: Create a new account for IRCTC registration by entering all the required information.

Step 3: Click on the IRCTC Sign Up’ link on the Login’ option.

Step 4: You will be redirected to the IRCTC registration form.

Step 5: Enter the username. The username should be between 3 to 35 characters.

Step 6: Choose the security question and its answer.

Step 7: Enter your name, gender, marital status, occupation, date of birth.

Step 8: Carefully fill up a valid email ID and mobile number as your login password.

Step 9: Enter your full address, including the pin code.

Step 10: Enter the text from the image and then click on the Submit’ button.

Step 11: Verify the account by entering the code sent at your registered number/email ID. Click on Submit’.

Steps for booking railway reserved ticket on IRCTC website/app from mobile phone:

Step 1: Login to URL irctc.co.in/mobile with your existing IRCTC user id and password or download the app of IRCTC

Step 2: Click on 'Plan my journey' under the option for 'Train Ticketing'

Step 3: Select the journey date, train and continue the booking

Step 4: Use existing passenger list or add passengers.

Step 5: Confirm booking details and make the payment through credit/debit card/UPI/Paytm

After booking, the passenger will receive a reservation message with full details of the ticket including PNR, train number, date of journey, class etc. Showing the reservation message of the confirmed ticket on their mobile during travel will be sufficient.

How to cancel railway e-ticket:
Online tickets or e-tickets booked through IRCTC portal can be cancelled online till the time of chart preparation. Follow the given steps to cancel your e-ticket:

Step 1: Visit the official website of Indian Railways, irctc.co.in

Step 2: Go to 'Booked Tickets' link

Step 3: Select the ticket to be cancelled by selecting the passengers to be cancelled.

Step 4: The cancellation will be confirmed online and the refund would be credited back to the account used for booking, after deduction of applicable cancellation charges.

Partial cancellation of ticket:
If there is any partial cancellation of ticket, make sure that a fresh e-reservation slip (electronic reservation slip) is printed separately as done for the original ticket.
