Ferrara is a city in northeastern Italy in the Emilia-Romagna region, the capital of the province of the same name. Located in the valley of the Po River, 50 km from the sea. Ferrara is a magnificent city of art and one of the capitals of the Renaissance, the historic center of which is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. During the Renaissance, the city was the residence of the d'Este family, who ruled here from 1260 to 1598. Under the patronage of the Dukes d'Este, Petrarch, Titian, Antonio Pisanello, as well as the poets Torquato Tasso and Ludovico Ariosto spent time in Ferrara. Thanks to the d'Este family, many beautiful objects have been built in Ferrara, but the city itself is a true masterpiece. Ferrara's cityscape was the vision of Ercole d'Este, who hired the architect Biagio Rossetti to seamlessly blend the "new" with the old.
