I have recently managed to digitise a nice crisp version of the second promo I produced in 1990, Northside Rising Star. We shot on 16mm, and it cost about £7k, most of which we spent on fireworks that exploded out of shot.
Syd and Jet came to help, and we set up a full 16mm shoot at the top of Arndale centre in Manchester. The band and their mates were great, hanging round in the sun smoking, drinking cider and swinging their legs. We spend a lovely day in the sun, and the evening came with a sunset and the promise of 3 grands worth of fireworks. We spent the evening as special guests at the hacienda, had a great night. Syd thought there was a fire and tried to get us all to get out, till we persuaded him that the alarm bell he could hear was part of the music.
