The first section of the Rundle Mall redevelopment was opened to the public on Friday, 8 November. This means that there's plenty of space for the Christmas rush, but the exciting part is there is more to come from the new mall.
More furniture, such as extra seating and unique and attractive lighting, is still to be installed. Add in colourful Plug'N'Play stalls down the side and we'll see a truly vibrant space.
This timelapse shows the final works leading into the opening, including tree planting and the erection of the podium - already a crowd favourite.
