Why is this beach being completely taken over by thousands of balls of sand? It’s all thanks to a tiny creature called the sand bubbler crab! These small crabs which are usually no bigger than an inch wide, make their home along tropical beaches. As they dig into the sand searching for food like tiny sea plants and plankton, they discard leftover grains by rolling them into hundreds of neat little balls each day. The crabs then arrange these sand balls into amazing patterns on the shore, creating a unique and beautiful display!
