The US denied an Israeli report that Washington along with Arab nations was conducting secret backchannel negotiations with Iran. A Channel 12 report had claimed that covert talks were taking place aimed at reaching a deal to halt attacks on Israel from Iran’s allies. When asked about the report, US State Department spokesperson denied that Washington had any part in or knew of any such initiative.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to stay in "close contact" after the two leaders spoke by phone on Oct 9, the White House said. Biden reaffirmed his “ironclad” support for Tel Aviv during the phone call with Netanyahu. The call between the two leaders was their first publicly announced conversation since August.
