The only time Diana and Charles felt as one. In Channel 5's documentary "The Royal Family at War", royal expert Ingrid Seward claims it was on the day of the divorce that the tension between Diana and Charles disappeared. "On the day of the divorce, 28 August 1996, she and Charles sat together on the sofa and cried," the royal expert reported. "It was a crazy breakup, but by the time the divorce was finalised, they were on much better terms than they had been during their time together." When the divorce proceedings were finalised, Charles and Diana finally stopped voicing mutual grievances and demanding the impossible from each other.
