"Tech4Rights Summit" is a platform and an initiative that aims to promote the topic of developing human rights in the technological era by gathering key experts and enthusiasts from the Western Balkans on a two days event in Podgorica, Montenegro.
The goal of the event is to enable connecting, networking, cultural exchange, and encouraging joint initiatives across Western Balkans within the area of human rights using digital technology.
Through keynote speeches and panel discussions, the following key topic areas will be covered:
(I) HealthTech - How can we improve digital healthcare system, mental health support system and patients' literacy? What are the current state of affairs in using new technologies to support mental health, patients` literacy and promoting healthy lifestyles? How is AI used in modern diagnostics?
(II) EdTech - Is gamification of education improving the learning outcomes? How do we use modern technologies in monitoring and evaluation of educational outcomes? What are advances in microlearning, blended learning, massive open online courses and is it improving outcomes for vulnerable people?
(III) CyberSecurity - How digitally resilient is Western Balkan? What are the burning concerns and what are the best solutions? How can we initiate/improve regional cooperation in this fleld?
(IV) Media and Disinformation - How are new technologies used in fighting disinformation? What is the face of right-wing politics in the new digital era? How are currently digital technologies used within elections to spread disinformation?
Ultimately, the event will enable sharing of success stories from the region and Europe, shaping new ideas, and forging new connections and initiatives across the tech spectrum for social good.
It will contribute to further promoting technology as a key tool to tackle some of the most pressing human rights issues, whilst strengthening and promoting the Chevening alumni network, and increasing the visibility of the Chevening programmes.
