The following is the construction process method for spraying silicone sealant on the exterior walls of rural self-built houses for rainproof, moisture-proof and waterproof purposes :
Preparations before Construction
1. Material Preparation :
- Select reliable and high-quality silicone sealant suitable for exterior wall use, ensuring that it has good waterproof, moisture-proof and weather-resistant properties !
- Estimate the amount of silicone sealant needed according to the area of the exterior wall and prepare sufficient materials !
2. Tool Preparation :
- Prepare professional spraying equipment, such as spray guns and air compressors !
- Prepare tools like brooms and shovels for cleaning the exterior wall surface !
- Prepare protective gear, such as gloves, masks and goggles !
Base Course Treatment
1. Cleaning the Exterior Wall :
- Use tools like brooms to sweep away dust and debris on the exterior wall surface !
- For areas with obvious stains, gently scrape them off with shovels and then rinse them clean with clean water !
- Ensure that the exterior wall surface is dry, free of oil stains and loose materials !
2. Repairing Cracks :

Spraying of Silicone Sealant
1. Debugging Equipment :
- Connect the spray gun to the air compressor and adjust the pressure and flow rate of the spray gun to achieve the best spraying effect !
- Before the formal spraying, conduct a trial spray on a small area of the wall and adjust the parameters until satisfactory !
2. Spraying Operation :
- Start spraying from the top of the exterior wall and work downward !
- Keep an appropriate distance between the spray gun and the wall surface, usually around 30 - 50 centimeters, to ensure that the silicone sealant is evenly sprayed on the wall surface !
- Pay attention to spraying at a uniform speed during spraying to avoid missing spraying or over-spraying !
- For corners, edges and other parts of the wall, pay special attention to ensure that they are sprayed thoroughly to ensure the waterproof effect !
Quality Inspection and Acceptance
1. Appearance Inspection :
- After the spraying is completed, check whether the appearance of the wall surface is flat and smooth, and whether there are phenomena such as sagging or blistering !
- If there are problems, repair them in time !
2. Waterproof Performance Inspection :
- Conduct a water splashing test on the sprayed wall surface to observe whether there is water seepage on the wall surface !
- If water seepage is found, find out the reasons and make rectifications until the waterproof performance meets the requirements !
Precautions
1. Construction Environment :
- The spraying of silicone sealant should be carried out in dry and windless weather, and avoid construction in rainy or humid environments !
- The construction temperature should generally be above 5 °C to ensure that the performance of the silicone sealant is not affected !
2. Safety Protection :
- Construction workers should wear protective gear to avoid contact of silicone sealant with skin and eyes !
- During the spraying process, pay attention to fire prevention and keep fire sources away from the construction site !
3. Finished Product Protection :
- After the spraying is completed, avoid collisions and scratches on the wall surface to prevent damage to the waterproof coating !
- Before the silicone sealant is completely cured, do not let the wall surface come into contact with water or other liquids !
