In tonight's bullletin: the opposition candidate who won the first round of the presidential elections in Sierra Leone seems confident of his chances in the run-off; Benin bans key drugs supplier New Cesamex from operating in the country; and Mali's only passenger train is back on track.
In Sierra Leone, the opposition candidate heading into the run-off vote for the presidency later this month declares that the ruling APC party is done. The SLPP candidate Julius Maada Bio will go head to head with Samura Kamara on March 27.
Also, it’s been a big week for Benin's crackdown on fake drugs. The country's official pharmacy body is suspended for six months, its top drugs supplier is banned and several pharmaceutical executives are jailed.
And Mali's only passenger train is back on track. A lack of cash stopped the service for almost a year and a half, but the railway is now once again taking passengers from Bamako to Kayes.
