Round 8 of 16

We’re at Silverstone for the 8th round of the season where sweeping changes have been made to the circuit and to its facilities in the F1 paddock and for the expectant crowd of over 130,000 fans here to cheer on their British heroes Nigel Mansell and Joey Davies.

Ferrari’s Ayrton Senna was the winner last time out in France and the Brazilian will be hoping to repeat his performance this weekend as he hunts down his 3rd victory of the season as the team continue their revival after a below-par performance at the start of the year.

In the drivers’ standings its still McLaren-Honda’s Alain Prost sitting on top despite failing to finish the last two races but Senna is closing in with Mansell and Prost’s team mate Davies hunting them both down as well.
McLaren remain at the top of the constructors championship despite a double DNF from Prost and Davies in France last week and the battle between Williams and Ferrari is close with both teams separated by only 4 points whilst Benetton and Footwork scrap over 5th place.
