Sangameshwar temple is an ancient temple in Saswad near Pune which is holding some of the beautiful architectures of nearly 700 years old. The distance between Pune and this Sangameshwar Mandir (Temple) is around 40 kms and can be accessed through Pune-Bopdev Ghat-Saswad road. This temple is less known to the people and mostly visited by the local people so remains less crowded throughout the year.
The Sangameshwar temple is also visited by many people for pre-wedding shoots near Pune. The temple is at the confluence or Sangam of two rivers - Karha and Chambli and hence the name Sangameshwar, and also considered one of the ancient yet beautiful temple in Saswad. The rivers carry lots of waters during the monsoon and hence people also treat this place as one of best places to visit near Pune in Monsoon. Otherwise this temple remains a weekend getaway near Pune or otherwise family people treat this place as one day trip near Pune.
The road to reach the Sangameshwar temple is scenic across the western ghats or Sahyadri ranges and passes through the beautiful paddy fields when reached at the top of the hills.
Both private vehicle as well as public transport (bus) is available to access the Saswad and then the temple is very nearby.
