A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officer has been arrested and charged with assault, the law enforcement department announced on Tuesday.
CMPD Officer Onesiphorus Bernard Williams was taken into custody after allegedly pointing a gun at two people around 5:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve morning, according to officials. Williams was off duty when the domestic incident occurred at a home in northeast Charlotte.
