Take 5 with The Institute!
The U.S. Department of Labor published its final rule defining independent contractors on January 10, 2024. The final rule addresses how to determine whether a worker is properly classified as an employee or independent contractor under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA or Act). The final rule implements a six-factor test for worker classification to be used to make the determination and becomes effective on March 11, 2024, although litigation to block the rule has already been filed.
Join Nita Beecher and Nancy Holt to learn more about the final rule and what employers should consider in order to be prepared.
