Workers frame the replica of Ravana's head with bamboo, and other materials like paper and old saree pieces are strewn on the sidewalk. Individuals of all age groups take part in making the effigies as the city gets ready for the festival which celebrates the victory of good over evil. They put glue on the papers before using them to stick on the bamboo framed-Ravana's head.
