Over 50% of food produced in Canada is wasted at some point between the farm gate and the plate. The Canadian beef industry has made a goal of reducing 59% of waster between the secondary processor and the consumer.
"Food Waste is lost resources. What we are doing here is taking those lost resources and putting them to work, incorporating perfectly good food that doesn't make it to the grocery shelf into our cattle feed - they can end up in the landfill, or get turned into beef!"
