Did you know you can poach your eggs ahead of time?
Why would you want to? Isn’t it just the same as cooking them as you need them?
If the thought of poaching eggs from scratch in the morning puts you off, being able to heat a smaller pan of water and reheat already perfect poached eggs will remove a mental barrier.
Any time you remove friction you’re more likely to do more of that thing.
Poached eggs in the morning are no different.
Even though I can poach eggs well, having them done *feels* like a lot less work, even it’s it’s only saving 10 mins on the day.
This is also useful if you’re making breakfast for multiple people, or hosting a brunch for friends.
It’ll make the timing of bringing all the eggs to ready at the same time easy.
Also, if there’s someone in your household that would like poached eggs in the morning, but can’t seem to poach them well, prepping for them means they can reheat easily.
Poach for 3 minutes, then into some iced water. Keep them in the fridge for up to 2 days. When you (or someone else) wants to eat them, bring a small pan of water to a simmer and get the eggs in for another 3 minutes.
