Blue Lagoon Island at KRS Krishna Raja Sagara backwaters Mandya tourism Karnataka Tourism. Blue lagoon Island- the beautiful island in the backwaters of Krishna Raja Sagar Reservoir of Kaveri river, Mysore. It can be reached through the road near to the railway station near krs Dam. The time we choose to visit this place ,was once when the summer was just setting in and the rain gods had not been merciful to the place , for the last few years. The water level had dipped so low that the dams had reached dead storage. The river bed during drought season is used for agricultural purpose by local farmers. The so called island was no more submerged by water on all sides. We could drive on to the island and around it. But nature never fails to surprise us .The beauty which awaited us was exotic. Words fail to express the feeling of the serenity that surrounded us. The kind of silence which human habitation has deprived us of, the fresh air that cheers up ones mood and the blue waters against the barren river bed contrasting itself. One of the best memories has been etched in my mind with this visit. It just connects to u instantly............Again i visited the place just when the monsoon had started setting in. This time round the water had started filling up around the island and few other islands were starting to form in the KRS Backwaters. The beautiful waves of the Krishna Raja Sagara cauvery river keeps one mesmerized.
