The closure of several roads in Central London caused the 21 to be Diverted via Gracechurch Street, Bishopsgate, Norton Folgate, Shoreditch High Street, Great Eastern Street and Old Street returning to its regular line of route at the Old Street Roundabout. This diversion unsurprisingly had a knock on effect on the service as many buses were curtailed to New Cross Bus Garage in an attempt to provide a reliable service on the Central section of the route.
