Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a quick look at the replacement brass inflation valves. These are going to fit your quarter inch air tubing that comes with most of your air spring kits. So this is a specific fit for the Firestone kit, but it really will fit just about anything that has that quarter inch tubing. It's going to also have the nut to tighten that down and the threaded caps as well so we can keep out any dirt or debris from getting into our Schrader valve and causing any issues.
So if something happened to your original valves, maybe the threads got marred up or just wasn't holding air as it should, these are going to be a direct fit for you so it should get you back to being able to have a working system again. These are going to be push to connect fittings, so to remove them from your old ones usually that fitting is going to be kind of pushed out. If you push in on that collar and then remove your tubing, that's going to be the easiest way to get that out of there. So once you put your tubing in place, you'll push it in and then it should go a little bit further and it should be all sealed up and when you tug on that line, it shouldn't come out. So something to keep in mind there,It's also a good idea to spray it down full of soapy water and check for leaks.
If there's any little bubbles forming kind of slow bubbles, that means that you have a leak and there's air escaping somewhere in there. Sometimes it can actually be from grooves carved into your airline, especially if you happen to drag it across any sharp edges, it can cause little grooves there. And then that's where that air is escaping out around that push to connect fitting. So make sure that you're being careful with that airline and not dragging it across any sharp edges. But that's pretty much all there is to it for our brass inflation valves. I'm going to give you a measurement here just for reference: so the overall length of our valves with the cap removed is about one and three quarter inches, and then it's about a half inch wide on the flats of each side.I hope this video has been helpful in determining if this is going to be the right fit for you.
If not, we do have a lot of other options available here at etrailer.com, a lot of other replacement parts for your Firestone air systems, so hopefully we can find the right part to get you back out on the road and enjoying your vacation or enjoying your work. Thanks for watching and we'll see you next time.
