The fifth suite of galleries from my solo exposition titled -'Oceans Collections Reflections'
The room is titled 'Te Rarohenga' - the Maori name given to the underworld, a place of cultured and considered existence by its inhabitants. This room is also a metaphor for 'Te Whare tangata' - the womb and thru this, also the cosmos. This room depicts the origin of Ta Moko & Ta Niko through the narrative of Mataora & Niwareka. This room speaks clearly of a Maori measurement of life...
