Amaranth Chivda or Rajgira Chivda is a healthy snack made using puffed amaranth, nuts and spices. This chivda is made with minimum oil. I have used only 1 tablespoon of oil to make this chivda. This chivda is not only tasty, but is nutritious too. This is a fasting dish and hence is made with minimum spices. Amaranth Chivda makes for a healthy snack and can be consumed during non-fasting days too. If you are making this for non-fasting days, you can also add sesame seeds, roasted chana dal, turmeric powder and red chilli powder to this chivda.
It can be served as mid-morning snack or as a tea-time snack. Navratri is around the corner. So, if you are observing Navratri fast, do try this recipe.
