Appendectomy can be done either by the conventional method, that is the open method or a keyhole surgery, that is the laparoscopic surgery. Nowadays commonly we do a laparoscopic surgery as a day care surgery for an acute appendicitis. Here we put 3 keyholes, into the abdomen with the camera, we operate on the appendix, and after 6 hours the patient will be fed if the patient is tolerating, the patients will be discharged on the same day or the next day based upon how the patient is sensitive upon the pain. Based upon that we give an IV medication and the next day the patient will be discharged.
